  • Kolby Krystofik

    OWNER/GENERAL MANAGER

Hi I’m Kolby, and I am super passionate about health and fitness and would love to share my love for the outdoors with you. I am a teacher at heart and my goal will always be to add value to your life. I grew up around sports my entire life, but it wasn’t until my college years that I discovered my passion to share fitness with others and learned a lot about how I can best do that.

The past 11 years I have been building my passions and finding useful and relevant information to pass on to others. I graduated from Pepperdine University with a degree in Sports Medicine and have studied under Michael Anderson of CrossFit Malibu. I now own Oxnard MVMNT and operate as the General Manager. I have also fallen in love with the ocean and surfing after playing water polo for Pepperdine. In addition to being a coach, I am also an Ocean Lifeguard for The County of Los Angeles in Malibu. Spending most of my summers at the beaches keeping an eye out for beach patrons and learning more about the awesome power of the ocean.

If you want to see more play in your life, follow me on the road to better health!

  • Brenda

    HEAD COACH

Hello! I am Brenda or you can call me Beeks. If you were to tell me five years ago, I would be Head Coach of a CrossFit Gym, I would have hid between my slumped over shoulders and laughed. Oxnard|MVMNT has changed my life; first as an athlete, then coach. Now as Head Coach, I am here to help you change your life in the best possible way.

While my main goal is to just simply make a difference in someone’s life, whether it be a smile or a laugh, I realized that I wanted to narrow it down and make a difference through fitness. I want to make sure people are moving well for their entire life; making an entire lifestyle change because they WANT to not because they HAVE to. I want to be able to keep athletes moving well for as long as possible but MOST IMPORTANTLY I want people to LOVE the body they are in.

Since I have started CrossFit, I have gone through almost all scaling options because nothing ever came easy for me. I’ve gained 20+lbs of muscle but more than that, I’ve added 150+ more friends to my life which means 150+ more family members to my life!

MY BACKGROUND! I played soccer up until the age of fourteen. By high school, my best friend convinced me to try Water Polo. Did I mention I had to learn to swim? After four years of water polo, I went to a globo gym as I entered college, with my very own dad as a gym buddy. As far as college itself, I took some classes to enhance my knowledge in different sports and eventually received my B.S. in General Sociology from California State University, Northridge.

With the guidance of the MVMNT staff, I went from athlete, to cleaning bathrooms, to intern, to full time coach. Today, I am Head Coach of Oxnard MVMNT AND Chiropractor’s Assistant with Perform Better Chiropractic. With these two under my belt, I am able to fulfill my passion and goals every single day.

I cannot wait to meet you & make you laugh!

  • JR Jaquay

    COACH

My name is JR and I am the newest member of Oxnard/MVMNT. I come to O|M with 31 years of coaching experience.

I grew up training gymnastics and competed until the age of 24. Gymnastics helped me build a strong work ethic. Being involved in such a detail-oriented sport provided me with a better understanding of the small details that build an athlete. Once my gymnastics career came to an end I moved directly to running marathons which eventually led to completing two half Ironman Triathlons.

In 2012 I went to CrossFit on a suggestion of a friend. CrossFit provided that community training aspect I was use to having in gymnastics. Having “teammates” or class mates to train with gave me the support I needed to push myself farther. Class training has made such a difference in my enjoyment level and pushes me on days I wouldn’t have the drive to do it alone. In 2013 I complete the L1 Trainer Course and have been coaching CrossFit ever since. Combine that with my 31 years of coaching gymnastics and I have developed a wide range of coaching techniques for all ages and ability levels.

I truly believe that the phrase “old dogs can’t learn new tricks” is a fallacy. Regardless of age, ability, or previous sports experience it is never too late to start your fitness journey. Crossfit is specifically designed to welcome all levels into the community. With multiple scaling and modification options there is a “place at the table” for everyone.

Don’t wait any longer. Come check us out. We are here to support you and help you accomplish your fitness goals.

  • Jeff

    COACH / NUTRITION COACH

My name is Jeff and I’m one of coaches at Oxnard|MVMNT. I first started CrossFit back in 2011 with my wife (then fiancé) to get into shape before our wedding. After the first class I fell in love with the methodology and lifestyle that comes with being a functional fitness athlete.

In the beginning it was all about crushing the workouts and lifting heavy weights. Now that I’m older, married and a father of two, I am finding that there is much more to being fit than how fast I go or how heavy I can lift. My focus now is to be able to take all of the groceries from the car to the house in one trip, beat my kids in a race until they are 18, and be able to pick up my grandchildren and throw them in the air.

My full time job is in the healthcare industry and I spend a lot of my time in hospitals and medical clinics. Many people become unhealthy and develop chronic illnesses from a lack of exercise and not eating properly. Don’t let this be you! Come see me in an early morning class and we can talk about how I can help you achieve your short and long term fitness goals.

  • Madi

    COACH

Glad you made it here, I’m Madi! Throughout my life I have grown an intense passion toward health and fitness which has had a huge impact on the direction my life was headed in. Enough of an impact to pursue a degree in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, & Recreation. What I love about my field of study is that I get to teach others greater awareness of their body which is so important because we only get one!

I joined Oxnard MVMNT as an athlete soon after I graduated college in 2016. I initially chose CrossFit because I was looking for something to void my post athlete depression (it’s a real thing). I played softball for 17 years from t-ball through college. Over those years I also played basketball, volleyball, soccer, and water polo. I was always passionate about softball but loved how skills from other sports improved my performance on the field. I played college ball at Colorado State University-Pueblo where I was recruited as a pitcher but also played first base and loved to hit. I received my L1 in May 2018 and then began the intern process here at MVMNT. I have been a Coach since January 2019 and am so lucky to love what I do.

    Eric

    MOBILITY COACH

Hello, my name is Eric and I’m one of the coaches at Oxnard|MVMNT. My wife, Amanda, and I started CrossFit back in 2012 when our kids had left for college. We were looking for an activity that we could do together and immediately realized how much different this was compared to the many years of weightlifting/bodybuilding we had done. We were very surprised how intense such a short workout could be and our first group WOD was Fight Gone Bad!

Getting to the gym is almost always the best part of the day for me whether I’m working out or coaching. As a Masters athlete your approach is sometimes different but the goals are the same: do what you can do on that day to the best of your ability.

My other job is in the semiconductor/solar industry and I like to tell people that I work with really clean rocks! Ask me sometime about the drop of water in the Olympic swimming pool.

You will almost always find us at the 3:30 classes, which end with a cooldown and stretch period I lead right afterwards. If you’ve never done that, try to get to a 3:30 class and see what you’re missing. Of course, you can always sign up for Mobility Saturdays to get the full experience.

  • Nicci Hoare

    COACH

Hi, I’m Nicci! Over the past couple of years, I have discovered my passion for CrossFit – I love learning about it, doing it, and teaching it! CrossFit has given me an insane confidence in my body’s abilities to do hard things, and I want others to be able to feel the same way about their own bodies! I love a good challenge and CrossFit continually presents me with opportunities to strategize a workout, and to test my body’s limits. The most important thing I want to encourage athletes in is showing them that taking care of their health can be FUN.

In high school, I was a competitive track and field athlete specializing in pole vault, sprints and hurdles. In 2018, I was invited to compete on the provincial team for pole vault in the Canadian Legion Nationals. In my second year at Ventura College (Fall 2021), I joined the swim team. Around the same time, I also found CrossFit and started coming to Oxnard|MVMNT. A year later after swim season ended, I decided to fully jump into CrossFit as an athlete and began a competitive training program. This sealed the deal for me and was where I truly began to see myself blossom as an athlete. It was like I had found everything I felt that I was missing in track and field. From here, this stirred my passion as a coach as well. I started the Coaches Development Program here at the gym, and completed my L-1 certification in April 2023. I began coaching at OxnardMVMNT shortly after. In May 2023, I also completed my Associates Degree in Kinesiology.

Can’t wait to have a goofy time with ya!
